Arman Imansharipova and Yulia Gasanova, teachers of physics at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan, became the best in the national contest «Science on Stage Qazaqstan». The winners’ project «Music of Science» will be presented at the «European Science on Stage» festival, which will take place in Prague in 2022.

 

The «Music of Science» project is designed around STEAM, which combines several school subjects, developing mathematical and scientific literacy, critical and creative thinking, design and engineering skills of students by involving them in creating engineering devices, works of art and other inventions. It consists of the idea of creating musical instruments based on students’ knowledge of sound waves. As part of the project, the participating teams not only used scientific and technical knowledge, but also created an environmental project using waste paper, glass, and plastic. Through this project, Arman Imansharipova and Yulia Gasanova were able to provide learning and teaching that allows students to develop harmoniously in accordance with the principles of the school.

 

«Science on Stage» is an international festival and networking platform where teachers show their best practices and share innovative methods for teaching STEM subjects.
