«Keipker»: Zhaniya Kenes

🔹 This is the “Keipker” column.

On the eve of selecting a new school president, we decided to look back at what the last school year was remembered for.  And the first to answer this question is the president of the 2020-2021 school year student government, Jania Kenes.

🔹 What goals were set?

– There were many goals for the year, both in the campaign and throughout the year the Self-Governance emphasized the mental health of the students. For example,

1.Mental support (send a survey every month from SC for the entire NIS community);

2.Social medias: TikTok & IG, Telegram;

  1. Useful and entertaining challenges/contests/activities for students;
  2. Activities for teachers (debates and meetings with interesting personalities);

5.Evening talks: with famous personalities for the whole school community;

  1. Tournaments (esports, chess, sports, entertainment);
  2. Events with other schools.

🔹 Were there any problems?

– Yes, in fact, the presidency may seem like an unnecessary activity to some, but in fact, the entire Self-Governance depends on that person’s responsibility. As in any activity, there are times when it is morally difficult. Basically, it was in the beginning, because we were changing the structure of the Self-Government, drafting regulations and rules absolutely anew. Also there were force majeure situations during the events: when the guest could not connect to the meeting, and such situations, which could not be prevented – it was repeatedly. Both during networking events there was this, and during intra-school events. But really, it all developed us and we learned and continue to learn from the mistakes.

🔹 What or who motivates you in school?

– It’s no secret that the president’s main goal is to improve the school.  So I am motivated by the goals we set. Well, also, the feedback from the school community. 🤍 And thank you to my very cool School Board and especially to the ministers! ❤️

🔹 What are your wishes for the graduates?

– I would really like to wish the graduates good luck in life and happiness! DP ends soon, which means that the pressing deadlines will end soon, too. Most importantly, don’t forget to believe in miracles and in yourself! 💓
