Leaders for Climate Action

Students NIS International Baccalaureate school are finalists in the eco-competition.

The Foundation for the Development of Socially Significant Initiatives with the support of UNDP held a contest of innovative school projects in the field of ecology and climate change for students in grades 9-12 of schools in Nur-Sultan.

Diana Baizhanova, Kamila Shaipranova and Gayde Jumagul created a game where young people can learn more about the problems of land pollution.

” Having taken a rather important environmental problem – land pollution – we decided to find a solution that would attract more people, because only together we can achieve good results”, – shared the eco-activists.

The students took the popular tabletop walking games as the basis, thus attracting the attention of their age mates.

In addition, as part of other environmental initiatives, the school organized an “ECO club,” a club aimed at developing an environmental culture and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the school community.
