The semester grade is determined as the arithmetic average of the percentages of achievement in the formative and summative assessments.

End-of-year grade
The grade for the year is calculated in a ratio of
- 40% of the assessment for semester 1 and
- 60% for semester 2,
based on the IB grades in the 7-point system.
In the case of a mark with a fractional part of 0.5 and above (eg 3.5 or 4.5), rounding is made upwards.

Final marks on the upper school attestation – Internal final exams (Kaz Lang, Rus Lang, Kaz History for students who do not study these as DP subjects)
On the internal exams for the national components, both the IB and national grades for the subjects are put on the examination register.
The final grade for the national certificate of completion of the upper school is calculated on the basis of the following percentages:
- 50% for the examination paper and
- 50% for the end-of-year grade,
both based on the IB grading scale..
In the case of a final assessment with a fractional part of 0.5 and above (eg 5.5 or 6.5), rounding is made upwards.
Final marks on the upper school attestation – DP exams
The final grade for the six subjects studied at standard or higher level in the DP is included in the “attestat” on the basis of the following results: 20% of the assessment for the IB Diploma final grade and 80% of the school year grade, calculated from the grades according to the IB 7-point scale.

Final grades for "attestat"
Final marks on the upper school "attestat" – TOK
The attestat includes the component ‘Theory of knowledge’. The mark is given by converting the end-of-year grade given on the school report for TOK, from a grade on the IB 7-point scale to a grade on the 1-5 point scale.
