The names of the winners and runners-up of the NIS 2021 Network Olympiad have been announced.

According to the results of the Olympiad three students from our school won prizes:

I place.

Aruzhan Bulekpaeva (French)

II place

Adia Abdibekova (Russian language and literature)

Diana Azhigalieva (German)

This year more than 700 intellectuals took part in the competition, and there were 25 students from Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan. They competed in chemistry, biology, geography, computer science, Kazakh language, history of Kazakhstan and other general education subjects.

On the first day of the NIS Network Olympiad, the NIS IB students said they had prepared thoroughly for the Olympiad and were ready to win.

Aida Davletova, a 10th grade student representing the school in geography, shared a special fact:

– Compared to other subjects, I find geography an interesting subject. I like to learn about the location of the countries of the world, about nature, about mysterious places. One fact that has further increased my interest in the subject is the Mekong River in Thailand. Between late October and early November, thousands of bright red balloons quickly emerge from the water of the Mekong River, illuminating the dark sky for a few seconds and then disappearing into thin air. They are called Naga fireballs. Scientists still do not know the secret of this phenomenon.

Having improved her knowledge in preparation for the Olympiad, Aida plans to study geography in high level in next year’s Diploma Program.

Intellectuals who came with thorough preparation consider the Olympiad a source of new knowledge and an opportunity to make new friends. Students who have repeatedly participated in the knowledge contest shared their advice with the first participants of the Olympiad. According to them, the main thing is not to worry. In addition, it is desirable to be attentive when performing tasks, carefully answer each question.

Diana Azhigalieva, a 10th grade student, participated in the last year’s Olympiad in Shymkent and took second place in German language. For Diana, who has been interested in German language since 7th grade, the Olympiad is one way to gain experience.

– I think you should memorize words and phrases when learning a language and use them often in everyday life. In this way, one can understand the spoken, written information provided in German. That’s why I adhere to the principle that knowledge of vocabulary is the main key to language learning,” Diana says.

Congratulations to our prize-winning students!
