“Sen bilesin be?” – International Baccalaureate

Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan teaches the International Baccalaureate programme and does not have such fields as Physics and Mathematics and Chemistry and Biology, which other NIS schools have.

The International Baccalaureate is an international non-governmental educational organization. For more than 50 years, a global community of world-class educators and facilitators has interacted with more than 1.95 million students in more than 5,500 schools in 159 countries.

Within the International Baccalaureate there are three educational programs:
For primary school – The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children 3 – 12;
For secondary school – The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for children aged 11 – 16;
High School – The Diploma Programme (DP) for 16 to 19 year olds.

Students in grades 7 through 10 are tutored in all subjects. And when students come to 11th grade, they choose 6 subjects based on their future occupation: 3 of these subjects are taught at an advanced level and 3 at a standard level. Including 2 of the 3 subjects must be based on the major the children want to enter. At the end of the 12th grade, the student receives an International Baccalaureate diploma, which entitles them to enter any university in the world without having to take any additional examinations.
