“Sen bilesin be?”: Diploma Programme

The Diploma Programme (DP) is an assessment programme for students ages 16-19.

The aim of the IB Diploma Programme is:
– To develop critical thinking skills;
– Development of research skills;;
– development of intercultural understanding;
– the holistic development of students’ personalities.

The curriculum consists of six subject groups and also three major components: “Extended Essay (EE); Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Action, and Community Service (CAS).

The school offers the following courses in the Diploma programme:
– Group 1: Kazakh A: Literature SL, English A: Language & Literature SL and Russian A: Language & Literature SL & HL
– Group 2: English B HL
– Group 3: Modern History of Kazakhstan SL, World History SL/HL, Information Technology in a Global Community SL/HL, Economics SL/HL, Anthropology SL & HL, Geography SL & HL.
– Group 4: Physics SL/HL, Biology SL/HL, Chemistry SL/HL, Computer Science SL/HL.
– Group 5: Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches SL & HL and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation SL & HL
– Group 6: Film SL & HL, Art SL/HL

Students choose 6 subjects from the 6 subject groups offered. Usually 3 subjects are taken at the high level and 3 subjects are taken at the standard level.
