Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan is an international school that provides educational opportunities for gifted students using International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and whose mission is to develop an intellectual community, intercultural understanding and the value of lifelong learning.

 

NIS in Nur-Sultan received its Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation certificate in June 2016. Its main task is the external evaluation of the school in accordance with the standards of international education.

 

NIS IB is the only school in the network of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools that teaches IB. In September 2013 the school launched the Diploma Programme, which is a universal course preparing high school students aged 16-18 to enter the world’s leading universities.

 

NIS IB received International Baccalaureate authorization in November 2015 for the Middle Years Programme for students ages 12 to 16 in grades 7 through 10. The Middle Years Programme is designed to guide students in the search for awareness of their role in nature and social space.
