A deputy of the Principal of NIS ІB became an independent expert in CIS accreditation

To this date, 20 representatives of Intellectual Schools have been trained by the Council of International Schools (CIS) to prepare independent experts for accreditation. Among the experts is Gulnara Salmenova, a deputy of the Principal for development of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan.

Every year the Council of International Schools conducts training for independent accreditation experts. Only employees of CIS member schools can take part in the training. Since 2015, within the framework of cooperation with CIS to build capacity, deepen knowledge in the field of international education, study international experience, 20 employees of AEO and Intellectual Schools were trained and prepared as accreditation experts. 12 of the trained staff actively participate in CIS team visits in Kazakhstan and abroad.

Training included modules with text and video lessons, interactive forums, online meetings and assignments that were reviewed and evaluated by the trainer. The training materials included real-world scenarios that required participants to immediately apply what they learned in their schools. After completion of the training, all participants completed final assignments, which resulted in a decision by CIS to approve the trained participants as independent accreditation examiners and award them certificates.

Each expert will be further used by CIS as an independent expert to carry out Preparatory Evaluation and Team Evaluation. Participation in the CIS visits will allow for an exchange of experience with other members of the evaluation team, as well as with representatives of the school being evaluated, which will allow NIS staff to innovate, prepare their schools for successful accreditation, and improve the educational process based on international experience.
