NIS student wins gold medal at the RK Chess Championship

Beksultan Moldagali, a 7th grade student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan, won the RK Championship in classical chess, which was held in Shymkent city. Beksultan competed among boys under 14 years old.

– I’ve been playing chess since I was 10 years old. The main reason why I chose this sport is the presence of interesting strategies and plans during the game. With the help of chess a person learns to plan his business and make predictions, adapts to the effective use of his time, to achieve the set goals. I consider my idol in the sphere of intellectual struggle the current world champion, the Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, – says the young intellectual.

The strongest chess players from all regions of the republic came to the most long-awaited event. Winners and prize-winners of competitions were awarded by medals, diplomas and money prizes.

According to the rules of the tournament the Champions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in age categories “8”, “10”, “12”, “14”, “16” and “18” in classical chess get the right to participate in the World Championship among juniors in classical chess in 2021.

On behalf of the school community, we congratulate Beksultan on his victory and wish him good health and bright achievements.
