“Medal of Yelbasy” in the NIS “moneybox”

8th grade student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan, Kamila Shaypranova became the owner of the “Medal of Yelbasy”.

“Medal of Yelbasy” is the only program at the national level aimed at comprehensive development of youth. The program is designed for young people from 14 to 29 years old.

Kamila Shaypranova, having learned about the program from her tutor Inkar Nurataeva, fulfilled the tasks of the project for six months. “Bronze” level, chosen according to her age, includes the following directions: “Sports and physical development”, “Talents and skills”, “Volunteering”, “Reading books”, “National heritage” and “Touring trips”.

For “Sports and Physical Development”, Kamila did fitness and yoga every morning. According to Kamila, doing sports helped her become more energetic and stronger in spirit.

Kamila Shaypranova, who made pastries every week, was able to develop her culinary skills in the “Talents and Skills”. Now she will delight her family members with sweet treats every day.

Twice a week for three months, she taught her friend for free, which helped improve her English. Her friend is extremely grateful to Kamila for volunteering and reaching out to her.

In the program young intellectual read books of world and Kazakh literature, books on personal growth and self-development. In the direction of “National Heritage” Kamila’s choice fell on the novel “Ulpan Her Name” by Gabit Musrepov and the historical epic “Nomads” by Ilyas Yesenberlin.

– We developed our creative skills, learned about Kazakh culture, and did volunteer work. This instills patriotism in us. Now I’m proud of myself for going through such a challenge. For me, this project helped me use my time efficiently and combine reading with other activities, besides, after completing the project I acquired new habits such as playing sports and reading books every week. I finally got my medal. My family, my loved ones are proud of me. I want to continue working on getting a silver, gold level medal,” – says Kamila Shaipranova.

These days in all regions of Kazakhstan ceremonies are held to award bronze level participants with the “Medal of Yelbasy”. In Nur-Sultan, 165 participants became winners of the project. The awarding ceremony for the young people who developed, read books, volunteered and practiced sports for 6 months took place at the Palace of Schoolchildren.
