THE GRANT WINNER MADE THE CHILDREN HAPPY

On October 21, 2020, 11th grade's student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan Zhangir Murat together with the head of Youth Policy Department of Nur-Sultan Daulet Karibek visited the capital orphanage.

The youngest volunteer, Zhangir Murat, won the Grant in the recent contest "Volunteer Project Support". During the quarantine, he spent no time wasting on free guitar playing lessons and English language courses for children from low-income families and orphanages. After the contest, Zhangir formed a volunteer organization consisting of like-minded students. The team consists of 11th grade students of NIS of Physics and Mathematics, such as Sultan Muratbek and Zhaksylyk Zhenis.

- A free guitar course is held for orphanage students in the framework of the contest, which is focused not on individual projects, but on the usefulness of volunteers for society, along with active youth. In addition, according to the course's schedule, English classes will be held on the ZOOM platform. Next year we will promote the opening of other courses," said Daulet Karibek, the head of the Youth Policy Department.

NIS students who visited the capital orphanage and the SOS Children's Village demonstrated their skills on the guitar and presented the children with gifts.

- First of all, we would like to thank the Department of Youth Policy of Nur-Sultan city for this opportunity. Secondly, we would like to thank the children for their enthusiasm in learning new skills. We hope that with this course we will all be able to find common language and make friends. Our next goal is to gather teachers from different schools and unite the work of a team of active volunteers at the city level, - said the group of volunteers headed by Zhangir.

At the end of the meeting the children were photographed with elders who gave them joy.
