STUDENT OF NIS IN NUR-SULTAN WON A GRANT FOR A STARTUP PROJECT

Damir Zhumatayev, a 12th grade student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan, won a grant from the Karaganda Region Akim for the creation of a special start-up for the production of dried mushrooms.

From July 10 to August 10, 2020, stages of the competition for grants to develop and support youth entrepreneurship of the Karaganda Region Akim, such as selection, familiarization of expert monitoring groups with business plans and protection of projects of applicants were held. In total, 415 applications for grants from young people aged 18 to 28 years in Karaganda region were received. At the end of the contest 50 young entrepreneurs received grants. The size of each grant is 1 million tenge. The funds were used to open new socially important projects or develop existing youth business. As a result, the startup of Damir Zhumataev, a student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School, was among the best and got the opportunity to develop a project for the future young entrepreneur.

The idea of a startup project for an intellectual appeared during a visit to Abai, Karaganda Region.

- For the first time I thought about production of dried mushrooms and vegetables when I noticed that there are a lot of unsold raw materials for vegetables and mushrooms. In summer, when I helped my mother to dry mushrooms, it occurred to me that I could open a business and create jobs in my hometown," Damir said.

In this regard, Damir shared his plans for the future development of the project:

- I want to open my business on a grant basis and provide jobs to the population. In the future I intend to sign contracts with trade representatives of Nur-Sultan and Kostanay, as well as with Rollton Company in Almaty.
